βοΈ How to Safely Thaw a Turkey:
- Refrigerator Thawing (Recommended): Allow 24 hours for every 4β5 pounds of turkey.
- 12β16 lbs: 3β4 days
- 16β20 lbs: 4β5 days
- 20β24 lbs: 5β6 days
- Cold Water Thawing: Keep the turkey in its original packaging and submerge in cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes.
- Allow 30 minutes per pound.
- Never thaw a turkey on the counter β bacteria can grow rapidly at room temperature and increase fire risk during cooking.
πΆ Keep children at least 3 feet away from hot stoves, food, and liquids β steam or splashes from gravy, vegetables, or coffee can cause serious burns.
π§― Keep matches & lighters out of reach β up high in a locked cabinet.
π§Ό Keep flammable items like tea towels away from stovetops, grills, and flames.
