💧 CITY OF KATY: STAGE 1 WATER CONSERVATION — MILD
The City of Katy has activated Stage 1 (Mild) of our Water Conservation Plan. This is a voluntary, awareness-level stage—there’s no mandatory watering schedule yet, but we need your help now so we don’t have to move to stricter, mandatory stages later.
Here’s how you can help:
• Voluntarily cut back on water use where you can.
• Water your lawn and landscaping only between 12:00 AM–8:00 AM or 8:00 PM–11:59 PM.
• Hold off on draining and refilling swimming pools—top off with water to replace normal losses instead.
• Report leaks and dripping sprinkler heads promptly.
• Skip non-essential water use like excessive pressure washing or car washing during peak hours.
Our goal is simple: reduce citywide water use by about 5% compared to our normal monthly average. Small changes from everyone add up fast.
