The City of Katy takes a dynamic approach to economic development. The City is unique in that it sits within three counties – Harris, Fort Bend and Waller. We, together with several local, regional, state and federal partnerships, strategically market and plan for current and future growth. The City is proactive in keeping taxes low, continuing to make improvements to water, sewer and street infrastructure and beautification projects to keep Katy a quality location for new businesses. Economic Development Relationships

The City is a member of the Board of Governors of the Katy Area Economic Development Council. Established in 2003, the Katy Area EDC’s mission is to lead the economic development efforts of the Katy area to recruit, retain and expand new high quality, high impact companies, jobs and talent to improve the quality of life and place of Katy area residents. The City is a member of the Waller County Economic Development Partnership incorporated in 2002 to promote and expand environmentally acceptable business commerce, positive growth and overall cooperation and coordination for all citizens throughout Waller County. WCEDP’s purpose is to help develop new business and expand existing businesses and to assess the impact of various projects on the local economy while engaging in activities to build stronger communities.
