All contractors doing work within the City of Katy are required to register as a contractor with the City.

• If you are registering by e-mail or fax, you will need to send the completed contractor registration application, a copy of your driver’s license and state licenses.
• Your insurance company will need to send proof of general liability (minimum $300,000) listing the City of Katy as certificate holder. Proof of auto insurance is also required. If it is an out of state insurance policy, it will need to also list the job address.
• All required information can be sent to katypermits@cityofkaty.com or delivered in person to the Permit Office. 
• Once the registration is complete, you will be contacted by email and provided with a permit number and amount to pay online.
• The fee for registration is $200.00 and is valid for 12 months from the date of payment.
