The City of Katy Animal Control  department enforces  City and State laws. 

Persons wishing to visit any animals in the shelter may  do so by making an appointment.

Individuals wanting to adopt a pet in the shelter may contact us via email or telephone to set up an appointment to meet the animal.

If you are looking to surrender your pet, you must live within City limits. We intake owner surrenders by appointment only. Please email or call us for more information.  

Pet Licensing 

Katy Animal Control department strives to make the licensing process as convenient as possible.  Leave $2.00 (Two) per pet and a valid USDA approved rabies certificate of each pet under your doormat.  Call (281) 391-4740 (leave Message) or email the shelter at animalcontrol@katypd.com when ready.  Notifying animal control before 9:00 am Monday through Friday could  ensure your pet receives a license the same day.

The shelter is open Monday through Sunday from 8:00am - 4:00pm, If you would like to come see animals in the shelter, you must make an appointment in advance,  Staff are  usually responding to calls for service or tending to the animals in shelter. Please leave a voicemail, staff will return your phone call if a voicemail is left.
