Per the Katy Code of Ordinances, all cats & dogs MUST be registered with the City of Katy. There are two reasons for this:

1. Not knowing where a member of your family is can be a traumatic experience. Registering your pet will keep your contact information up-to-date incase your pet is ever lost. 
2. Proof of vaccination, which is required by the State of Texas

How to License your Pet:

Leave $2.00 and Proof of a valid Rabies Vaccination (you can get a certificate from your vet's office) under your door mat.

Then contact Animal Control:

• Call - 281-391-4740 (leave a message if there is no answer and you will receive a call back)
• Email - animalcontrol@katypd.com

We will fill out all the necessary paperwork and before the end of the day leave the following at your door: 

• Original vaccination certificate
• Money Receipt
• Your Pet License & Tag

We do NOT need to see your pet and no one is required to be home. This license will need to be renewed each year.
