Elected May 2022

             William H. “Dusty” Thiele was sworn in as Mayor of the City of Katy on May 13, 2022. Dusty Thiele is a longtime resident of the City of Katy, a downtown business owner and active community member.  He graduated with a BBA from Baylor University  and  moved  to the  City of  Katy in 1991.  He  has owned  and  operated  Thiele Insurance Agency for 35 years and the last 20 of those years have been in the City of Katy.      

            Dusty was  selected  by former Mayor Don Elder and  former  Mayor Bill  Hastings   to serve unexpired terms on  City Council, stepping  up  to  serve the City in times of need.  He has served on various City boards for almost 10 years.  Along with many years of serving the City  of  Katy, he  is  an  active  member  of  the Rotary  Club  of Katy  where  his  exceptional volunteerism earned him  the  honor of  Rotarian  of the Year. He is also a  Church Elder  and has served as Chairman for several chaired committees.

            Dusty hopes to earn the  trust and  respect of the  citizens of Katy  and lead  the  City with a proactive  and progressive  approach while  maintaining the City’s  small-town charm and heritage
