City of Katy, TX
Home MenuKeep Katy Beautiful
Established in 1993 by Mayor Skip Conner, the Keep Katy Beautiful (KKB) Board has proudly served as an affiliate of both Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful. Dedicated to fostering a clean, litter-free community, KKB works to educate and engage citizens in environmental stewardship through recycling, landscaping, tree planting and care, waste reduction, and beautification initiatives.
Through the support of the City budget, private donations, grants, and the Governor’s Community Achievement Award funds, KKB has led numerous beautification projects across Katy. These include iconic features such as the bronze geese entrance markers, Harvest Plaza, landscaping around the historic Depot and Caboose, and the installation of old-fashioned streetlights. Additional enhancements include the Katy City Park Arboretum, decorative traffic signal boxes, public art murals, the charming town clock, and new landscaping projects throughout the City.
KKB also promotes community engagement through programs such as the “Adopt-a-Spot” initiative, which empowers volunteers to care for designated public areas, and the “Katy Proud Business Program,” which recognizes local businesses that demonstrate exceptional commitment to maintaining clean and attractive properties. Other supported projects include the installation of a themed play station, Legacy Tree plantings to preserve the city’s natural heritage, and collaborations with civic and student organizations to further environmental education and grassroots involvement.
Together, these efforts reflect KKB’s ongoing mission to preserve and enhance the beauty of Katy for generations to come.
