A Katy mailing address does NOT mean you are within the city limits of the City of Katy. To help determine if your address is in the jurisdiction of the City of Katy, please refer to the Am I A Resident? map before completing an application for service.
To set-up a new residential account:
- Complete the application (click HERE for English or HERE for Spanish). Applications can be submitted by email, mail or in person.
- A $100 deposit for residential water service is required before service can begin. The deposit will remain on the account until applicant terminates service. Payment for deposit can be made by cash, check, money order or credit card if paying in person. If application is sent by email, we will contact you for credit card information. (2.5% credit card fee applied to all credit card transactions).
- A photo ID of both applicants must be included with application.
- Proof of ownership is required. Please provide a signed lease agreement, management agreement or first page of closing disclosure.
- Only name(s) listed below can make any changes, request information or access this account.
- Service will not begin until the deposit, ID, proof of residence and two-page application have been received.
Applications for new water service must be received by 2:00 p.m. for same day service. Applications received after 2:00 will be processed the following business day. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm. If you have questions, please contact the Utility Department at 281-391-4801 or at ub@cityofkaty.com.
